Today I go in to get the HPV vaccination. I have been cheering all my single friends on to get this, and it hit me. Nothing in life is certain, just taxes. My crystal ball cannot tell me if I will get raped (god forbid) by someone carrying HPV or if my marriage will take a different turn (god forbid). I need to be prepared. HPV is not curable, just treatable. It can cause cervical cancer. It may even render women sterile. The vaccine is only available to females ages 12-26. I cannot afford to wait, I will be 26 in march. So, today at 2:30 I will be facing my biggest phobia, alone. I will be getting a shot. I am hoping I will not pass out again, but this is so much more important than looking like a wimp. This pertains to my life. Please if you know any woman in this age bracket encourage them to get this vaccine. Think of the lives that can be saved.
