I was asked that very question a few weeks ago by a long time friend. I was caught off guard. I have been listening to NPR since I got my drivers license. I guess no one knew because I only do it when I am in the car alone or on exceptionally long car trips.I consider it rude to listen to talk radio wile having others in the car with me. I adore NPR - With the exception of A Prairie Home Companion which I despise solely on the basis that when it comes on I fall asleep. Monotone voices tend to do that.
Oh dear - I seem to have derailed my train of thought. Back to NPR. I adore being well informed in current events. It is almost insane how much i try to keep myself informed on. I listen to NPR, the BBC and news podcasts of ABC and NBC all day at work - to and from home I am dialed into NPR. When I find that I am hearing the same thing over and over I switch to audio books. The next audio book on my list is 1984.
So, there ya go. I listen to NPR.

I usually listen to All Things Considered on the way home from work.
I can't live without NPR. I never listened to it until about a year and a half ago when I rented a car and it forced me to listen to it. Been hooked ever since. I love The Writer's Almanac, The Thomas Jefferson Hour, and Out of the Box. Can't stand Prairie Home Companion as well.
