This is a question that has changed many times over the years. A teacher, a vet, a actress, a tech theatre type, a psychiatrist, a therapist, Asian studies, fashion design, a photographer, a radiographer.
I am at a point in my life where I need to find a job that pays well and settle in for a few years.
For the past few weeks I have been working for a temp service lots of copying / very little phone answering. That is until Monday.
Monday I was sent to a print shop in almost north Tulsa. On my first day it became evident that I was there to learn a new skill in hopes that I would be competent enough to bring on full time. This was not a temp job a monkey could do. This involved learning the business. Each day I gave it my all, with the hope that the people I am working for would choose to bring me on full time.
Friday they sat me down to see where my interest level was for this position. And they basically informally offered me a job. They cannot hire me from the temp agency for 60 days. But hey it is a full time job.
Working at a industrial print shop has never been on my radar for a job. This fell into my lap at the right time. It is a family run business. Everyone working there is sincere and has been there for years and years (some 30+). I can wear jeans to work daily if I so choose.
This certainly was not my goal, however some times the right thing comes along at the right time and you just have to take it.
