On the evening of August 25, 2007, one of the members of the Windy City Rollers, Tequila Mockingbird, was seriously injured during the Schoolyard Smackdown bout. Tequila, who skates for The Fury, went down in a pile-up and was unable to get up. Medical staff immediately came to her aid. She was transported to the hospital and the remainder of the games scheduled for that evening were cancelled.

At this time, the Windy City Rollers would like to thank all their fans for their patience, support and concern regarding Tequila's injuries. Out of respect for Tequila Mockingbird and her family, at this time, we must refrain from releasing any detailed information regarding Tequila's condition without her permission. Tequila is in the best care at one of the top hospitals in city and has the support of her family and friends.

We will issue updates about Tequila and the make up game as soon as we are able. Until then, we ask that you be patient, keep checking the site and most importantly, keep sending your well wishes, prayers, and thoughts to Tequila.
