and no, I am STILL not pregnant.
Grant went to see the cardiologist. In short with out making drastic changes to our life Grant will likely be dead before he turns 40. At the end of his 20's this is a priority. I would like to keep him around for awhile.
What does this mean?
Reducing our salt intake - this is not a big problem in our house. We use pepper, not salt.
Grant MUST quit smoking. Ultimately this is in his ball park. I cannot help or control this in any way. I am at a loss as to whether to cheer him on in this endeavor or to simply keep my trap shut. From past experience we know this will make him irritable. This will be taxing on the both of us.
Daily monitoring his blood pressure in conjunction with blood pressure medication he will be on for a very long time.
Exercise. Not the silly iron pumping tan and jacked kind. The get moving and get your heart healthy kind.
Ultimately I am hopeful that this will end with both of us in a much healthier life pattern.
I will not be cross posting my workout stuff to this blog. I figure not everyone will be intrested and it is best to keep the two seprate. For that info please follow the link to the right --->
Well, Tomorrow I start Zumba Class.
I am so nervous. I admittedly haven't really worked out in the last 2 weeks. I know I will be quite sore. Fortunately I have a nice big clean tub in which to soak.
From what I watch and read it is like step aerobics. I hope so, I loved step aerobics.
I rejoined weight watchers. Paid 3 months in advance. Wish me luck!
So this month has been a wee bit of a bust in my world. In-laws killed Paddy's day and my birthday was a bust to say the least. This week had me down. You know in the "Nobody likes me everybody hates me guess I'll go eat worms" kind of way.
Not a neon sign of self loathing mind you, but a internal churning none the less.... (yes this is being written under the influence so it may be a bit more rambeling than usual, espically when you add in my BELOVED diet pills!)
Today I came home and mowed the lawn with our electric mower. Slightly better than the electric mowers of yester-year. I personally think a goat would have done better. Then came inside, made too much spagatoo (meaning spaghetti but that's how I say it) ate it, then attained coma status on the couch. Yeah I am old. At 8PM I was awoke by the door bell. Erin stopped by to take me out for a birthday drink or two. Whooo Hoooo! THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED! A friend stopping in just to see how I was. It was FAB-OOOOOO. We ran up the road to potbellies for some brew only to discover it was ladies night and the first 2 drinks were free.
Those of you in VA will be shocked to learn that 2 drinks will now get me tipsy after being too broke to bar hop in the past 6 months. I am a fucking lightweight these days. It does save money so I cant complain.....
Any way moral to the story, you will never know how much your friends value you. Presence counts for a lot.
In the side bar on the right is a weight loss ticker. I will be updating it on Sundays and Wensdays. My weight has once again started spiraling out of control and it is time I regain that. I am not nearly as out of shape as I was in 2004 when I tipped the scale at 235. None the less, I am not happy with where I am and really I guess that is all that matters. I have set up a small home gym and am working out daily in addition to roller derby. Wish me luck I need this.

I dont get it. I eat healthy, I do derby but I cant seem to drop a friggin pound. I am starting on new diet pills this week perhaps my body grew accustomed to the old ones. I will let you know after 4 weeks about how it went/works.
First I would like to open in saying anything next to my friend Lisa looks fat... she is a super sweet skinny chick. So take this as a disclamer I have NOT gained weight..
So Lisa had a Halloween Themed Pampered Chef Party. Cool deal. I snapped up Grant a few Gifts (ssssshhhhh dont tell him) and I am hosting a on-line party next month. So I will be posting more info on that next mont- no pressure I promise.
As it would turn out Lisa and I were the only ones to dress up for the occasion... Me- as muself in HighSchool, Lisa as a Sailor...
Thats Hot!
But the first step is admiting it right?
Well I joined Bally's and have been hitting the gym and not loosing a god-damned pound. I keep trying and trying I am eating good, and nuthin. I am growing verry frusterated. Grr.
Last weekend Jess, Amy and I made the trip to Woodbridge to hit up Ikea for a new sofa for the living room. I dont have the room done by any means, but here is the start of it.
Just your basic loveseat type thing. I got tired of just having one couch.
I am also pleased to announce that Pinky and the Brain has been released on DVD! Narf!
I also have a thrilling metamorphasis happening to the bedroom decor, but I am SO not ready to show that off yet!
Oh and I *might* be a aunt. Grant's little brother told us just days before the baby was born that he was going to be a father. It was a little girl 8.4 lbs she is named Launa. We dont know if it is his or not.
Be your own judge I went swimming today. I am using this pic as insperation for my weight loss re-kick off.
Yesterday at work we got a couple of chocolate bars, naturally Amy and I decided that we NEEDED pepsi to accompany this gooey goodness. Thus began the frantic search for change. I have had massive cravings nearly daily since Grant left for pepsi, I have been searching EVERYWHERE for a way to feed my addiction. Between my cocaine looking nose from the 6 boxes of tissue/rolls of toilet paper/paper towels and the fact that I am paying for my caffine fix with pennies I bet people think I have a BIG problem. And lets just not mention the withdrawl simptoms. I twitch, and shake with out my daily dose of the nectar. But you know what they say, knowing is half the battle.
I have returned home from the gym after my first workout with my iPod nano it is just 1G and already FULL but I really like it! It made the workout FLY by (aside from the painful minutes while waiting on machines that people were camping on). I am SOOOOO glad I went to the gym, I was REALLY not feeling it esp. since I was still recovering from Friday night and still feel ucky, but it sure helped my flipping tummy! And I ran by a store and picked up some stuff for my project. One more pay cycle and I may be able to complete it!
Oh an yes so far the march res. is comming along nicely!
27: Hit the gym and lifted weights!
28: THIS GOD FORSAKEN MONTH IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I started back with my trainer (this would be my good thing for the day) Debi. And we started back my work out hard core. I had not relapsed nearly as far as I expected but I strongly suspect I will feel this tomorrow. But I have lost 4.5 lbs this week alone! GO ME!!!!
This means the damn month is nearly (halfway) over.
As I was sitting in drive thru today I had the worst urge to bust out into 'camptown races' just to see what the people in drive thru would do. No real reason otherwise. Dont know where that came from either.
To maintain my momentum I planned to hit the gym. I come home from work and veg on the couch, Neko hops up and joins me. We 'cat napped' together. What a odd little cat she is. I wake up as the power goes out. I can only guess this was some sort divine intervention to keep me from skipping the gym.
Step aerobics were BRUTAL. There is a new teacher who has it in her head that we 'need' to incorporate tae bo and cardio kick into class... uh uh.... theses knees cant work that way. But all was not lost, I did run into my old teacher that I LOVED and she is now a trainer, so I have an appointment for Thursday to reassess where I stand and what I need to do. So make that day 3 at the gym. I am even toying with the idea of running a marathon. But I may not be ready to do that.
I woke up this AM very well rested (because I finally got the temperature to a tolerable level). I dressed for work and began the commute to work. 2 minutes later I was there! I am now one of 3 tellers at this branch. I work drive thru. After noon I got a full hour for lunch, came home, ate chilli and did some laundry. Then went back to work. Got home at 6:30ish changed clothes and headed to the gym. (Yay for me 2 days in a ROW!) Did 2.3 miles on the elliptical. Could go longer with music, but they took out the radio. :-( (Guess Who Needs A Ipod?!. Swung by subway... they were out of my bread and spinach. Grr. Get home and chicken is cold, pitch it after eating half, bust out a Pepsi and a 100 cal Chips a Hoy, and get ready to fold laundry. The End.
