*Sigh*
Well I just finished some serious yard work on what is supposed to be the hottest day of the year thus far! I am tired, but satisfied.
Things with Grant, myself, and our marriage are looking up.
Grant has been accepted to CTI school in Monetery CA and we will be moving there soon. We are still waiting on the date, but I expect it will be before the fall.
The Honda is once again Tagged and driveable.
We had a good weekend. Grant played open mic night at the Barrell in Portsmouth. I was invited along and had a great time! His friends were all very nice and I was glad to be there. We were easily the youngest people there by 20 years, but the house band was good, and Grants band did great as well. They just found a drummer, he is awesome! I keep forgetting his name and referring to him as the kid.. he is just 18 but his drumming is GREAT! Saturday I had a Dr Appointment and got the once over... Poor Grant was not ready for what he saw when he went into the exam room with me to keep me company till the Dr. came in. (No he did not say for the exam) but he did lift up the towel I told him not to... I thought he was going to faint. I thought that was pretty damn funny.
Things are going better with Grant and I than they have in a very very long time. I feel like I can at last be myself around him... any time... no judgement. I think he feels the same way. I guess wading thru the shit has some positave outcomes after all.
I am wearing a size 8 in jeans now, and have quite a few clothes to get rid of. However I did gain 5lbs this past 2 weeks so I need to get my ass back in gear. I have added a riser to my step workout, so hopefully that will help.
Kansas City was a ALOT of fun, I had a BLAST, having Andi back was just the shot of life I needed! Lizzie was seriously stressing but was a great host inspite of that. The weather was beautiful and the jazz was GREAT!
Here are some of the photos from my time there, Now let me explain them most have this dumb looking ratty bear in them. My best friend Lizzie (the bride) Got this gay bear as a gift from her first EVER boyfriend in 7th Grade. Andi and I hated him (the boyfriend and by default the bear as well). We used to string the bear to the ceeling fan, put it in the microwave, in the rabbit hutch, her brothers bicycle chain, we ripped the head off (a couple of times). She swore we would not find the bear..... We found it. Then we took pictures with the bear all over town. The guys you see me with are her younger brothers Jake (the big one) is 22, Eric is 20. I have known them since Eric was 4. Her brothers often joined in in the highjinks when we were younger. We then presented her with the bear at the end of the reception.
While I was there I got in many trips to Quick Trip... I love that place and once day I made it down to Tulsa and got me some Taco Bueno!!!! (Gotta love the B.O.B.!) I never thought I would be so excited to smell skunks or see lightening bugs! But those 2 things made my day!
Here are some more photos from Kansas City
The friends that Sean and Lizzie chose for the bridal party were so nice, and fun! Lizzies in-laws seem like great people, and I am sure she will fit right in. I had so much fun at the reception, seeing Andi's family and her girls was great, and being with my adopted family that week was a god-send. It allowed me to get my head screwed back on straight. I guess lately I had not been feeling very much myself.
So I guess you could say my life is looking up! I hope all is going well for my readers too!
