My Dog Likes Having a Purpose,

In early November someone was assaulted in my apartment complex.

Since this time I will not go out alone at night. I cannot avoid it, so someone has to go with me. Grant is out to sea so that rules him out and really I am not that dependent on 'human' protection. I rather prefer fear for protection. This is where the dog comes in. 'Large Black Dog.'I really don't see her as scary at all, but apparently others do. So we are on the road tonight. Destination: commissary (for those of you who don't know this is a military grocery store which means lower prices and more idiots in a small space). After a good hour of shopping we come home. This of course leads to the unloading of the car and carrying stuff upstairs. Approximately 5 loads. If you think I am making five trips to the house with my arms full alone you are nothing short of nuts. Sam seemed to realize this was important, no boneheaded moves on the leash (walking in front of me or trying to run). She was patient while I was creeping up the stairs burdened with bags of groceries and all in all was a huge help. I think she likes to have this job. I guess I will let her keep it.
